Windows Mobile 6

So it seems the guys at mobile-review got their hands Windows Mobile 6.
There is a full review on it, with pictures included.

  • Revamped outlook, refined icons;
  • Totally re-mastered sound theme;
  • Increased interface speed;
  • Bundled IP-telephony (VoIP, SIP standard);
  • Smart Dial 2.0, fast search through contacts, call history; removable on-screen virtual keyboard;
  • Any tune can be assigned to any event;
  • Support for shortcuts in Outlook Mobile;
  • Full-fledged meetings arrangement system;
  • Support for HTML in messages;
  • Smart Filter – handy and fast search through messages;
  • Numerous MS Exchange 2007-tailored changes;
  • Integration with Windows Live online-services;
  • Marketplace – purchase, download, and install directly from the device;
  • Encryption – bundled memory card encryption
Those are a few of the updates. Personally, I was expecting a nicer new interface, especially with the new iPhone coming out.

What was the killer app for 2006?

The year 2006 is now over. OK I know you know that. We want to know what you think the best software application was in 2006. Personally I think that windows live was by far my favorite. It's mapping, driving directions, traffic, and local search for WM. It works a lot like google maps mobile, but the traffic and satellite views actually work.

Check it out!

My personalReview

The Samsung BlackJack is a slim, stylish mobile entertainment and organizational powerhouse. It plays: with Cingular Video and Cingular Music - exclusive TV content and your digital tunes. And it works: with Microsoft® Windows Mobile 5, Mobile Office TM applications, personal and corporate email and attachment support. And it does it all at break-neck 3G speeds. Only from Cingular.

Included Features

  • Microsoft® Windows Mobile 5.0 Edition(TM)
  • Cingular Music, Cingular Video and MEdia Net capable
  • Mobile versions of Microsoft® Office(TM) applications
  • Windows Media Player® 10 Mobile
  • Bluetooth 2.0® wireless connectivity
  • Simultaneous voice and data capabilities
  • Quad-band world phone with dual-band UMTS/HSDPA
  • Slim design PDA with full QWERTY keyboard
  • 1.3 MP camera with 2x zoom and video
  • Microsoft® Direct Push for real-time email delivery
  • Mobile Outlook®, Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, and PDF support
  • Email - Xpress Mail, Good Mobile Messaging, ActiveSync, and more
  • Synchronize your desktop and calendar wirelessly
  • Hands-free loudspeaker and microphone
  • Instant messaging capabilities
  • Fast loading full HTML web browser

Honestly, I believe the phone is a very sleek device. The Cingular video and online store is not that great. The audio playblack features are amazing, almost just as amazing as the quality. The QWERTY keyboard is tightly packed on the slim design, for some this may be a slight problem, but I don't find it much of a bother. The 1.3 megapixel takes snazzy pictures and good video but it is no 2.0 megapixel camera. The fast access internet is great especially in a hotspot. An instant messaging program is provided that has all 3 messengers. My only complaint would be no flash support, but thats more so a windows mobile problem. Speakerphone supported for those who use it often and seem to love it. You can also sync all your email accounts. Gmail, hotmail, yahoo, anything you name. I would suggest the phone to anyone who wants a nice fitting pda.

So, recently I've been compiling a list of reviews made for the Cingular Blackjack and have found some good reviews and bad reviews. I'll end up posting a review later.

Tired of Battery Life?

Well, apparently after much talk of an extended battery, it is finally here! These are a few pictures of the new extended battery. The new battery supposedly holds double the browsing, talk, and standby time of the normal standard battery. Though, currently there is no information about price or where to purchase.

Soon to be more updates.
